Data Sharing Policy

The journal's position on making research data available alongside published work.

Chintan: A Space for Thought encourages authors to make the research data supporting their published work available whenever possible, provided that doing so does not violate ethical, legal, privacy, or confidentiality requirements.

i.

Data Availability Statement

Authors should include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript. The statement should indicate one of the following:

Publicly available
Data are freely accessible and a link or repository reference is provided in the manuscript.
Available upon request
Data are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request.
Cannot be shared
Data cannot be shared due to ethical, legal, privacy, or confidentiality restrictions, with reasons stated.
Example statements
"The data that support the findings of this study are openly available at [repository/URL]."
"The data that support the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request."
"The data cannot be made publicly available due to ethical restrictions involving participant confidentiality."

Responsible Data Management

The journal respects legitimate restrictions on data sharing and supports responsible data management in accordance with applicable ethical and legal standards. Authors will not be penalised for being unable to share data where genuine ethical, legal, privacy, or confidentiality constraints exist.

Chintan: A Space for Thought believes that open and responsible data sharing strengthens the transparency and reproducibility of scholarly research, and encourages authors to share data to the fullest extent that their circumstances permit.
