Standards of integrity, transparency, and fairness expected of all parties in the publication process.

Chintan: A Space for Thought is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, fairness, and ethical conduct in scholarly publishing. The journal expects authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members to uphold these principles throughout the publication process.

Responsibilities

Authors

Authors must submit original work that has not been published previously or submitted simultaneously to another journal. All sources must be properly cited and acknowledged. All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research and approved the final version before submission.

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and identify sources of research funding where applicable. If a significant error is discovered after publication, authors are expected to promptly inform the journal and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction if necessary.

Reviewers

Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and confidentially, providing constructive comments that help improve the quality of the manuscript. They should not use unpublished information for personal advantage and must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality.

If a reviewer is unable to complete the review within the requested time or lacks appropriate expertise, they should notify the editorial office promptly.

Editor

The Editor is responsible for making publication decisions based solely on the academic merit, originality, quality, and relevance of the manuscript — without discrimination based on nationality, gender, institutional affiliation, or personal beliefs.

The Editor must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and ensure the peer review process is conducted fairly and without bias. Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed, and the Editor should recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

Research Integrity

The journal does not tolerate any form of research misconduct, including:

Plagiarism

Data fabrication

Data falsification

Image manipulation

Duplicate publication

Any other misconduct

Allegations of misconduct will be investigated carefully and fairly. Where misconduct is confirmed, the journal may reject the manuscript, publish a correction, retract the article, or take other appropriate editorial action.

Additional Policies

Ethical Compliance

Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional or national regulations. Authors should state that appropriate ethical approval and informed consent were obtained where required.

Corrections & Retractions

The journal is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record. When significant errors or ethical concerns are identified, appropriate actions — including corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions — will be taken in accordance with editorial policies.

By submitting a manuscript to Chintan: A Space for Thought, authors agree to comply with this Publication Ethics Policy and all other editorial policies of the journal.
